32A Model Railway Club brings together people with a shared interest in model railways, railway modelling and railway history. Members work across a range of scales and interests, from layout building and scenic modelling to electronics, DCC, locomotive maintenance and exhibition operation.
The club is a relaxed and practical place to enjoy the hobby. We like things to look right, but we are not here to make the hobby intimidating. We understand that its impossible to fully recreate the real (full scale!) world. Whether you want to build, operate, learn, help at exhibitions or simply talk trains, there is always something to get involved with.
The name 32A comes from the former British Railways shed code for Norwich. It reflects the club’s Norfolk roots and its connection with the railway history of the local area.
We currently model in various gauges:

There is something for everyone, whatever scale or gauge you are interested in!
Two of our members were at Coltishall Air Force MRC when it was open. After the club shut down, we moved to Ashnanhaugh Light Railway. We soon outgrew this location and moved to Woodbastwick where we spent the next 2-3 years and it was here where we discussed a change of name. Put to the vote, 32A MRC became the new name of the club. We also outgrew Woodbastwick and moved to Catfield. We eventually decided this location wasn't for us and moved to our current home at Little Plumstead Village hall in 2023. Over the past 20 or so years since the formation of the club, we have grown to over 25 members strong and worked on over 15 layouts. It has been an incredible journey so far and we look forward to what the future will bring.
