Description: Trimstowe is a fictional location situated between Trimley and Felixstowe, where the single line from Ipswich divides into three routes serving passenger services to Felixstowe and two routes to the container terminals.
The layout captures the busy railway scene of the area, with regular passenger services to Felixstowe alongside a constant stream of container trains travelling to and from the terminals. A grain store and maltings complex, relocated from the dock area as the container terminals expanded, add further operational interest and are served by occasional Grainflow freight trains.
Many of the buildings on the layout have been scratch-built using card or foam board, covered with styrene profile sheets or printed materials. Card, laser-cut MDF and plastic kits have also been used and adapted where required, alongside a selection of ready-to-plant resin-cast buildings from various manufacturers.
The locomotives and rolling stock featured on Trimstowe come from a range of manufacturers, including Graham Farish, Dapol, Revolution Trains and C-Rail, as well as kits produced by the N Gauge Society.
