Description: Westwood Ho MPD is a highly detailed preserved depot layout, originally known as “Just a Bit.”

The layout had been a familiar sight at the Bawdeswell Annual Show for many years before its original owner contacted our treasurer, Alan, to ask whether we would be interested in giving it a new home. Despite Alan being in hospital at the time, the original owner was incredibly patient while arrangements were made, and eventually a deal was agreed.

The layout was subsequently welcomed to its new home at 32A, where it continues to be enjoyed and developed. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the original owner for his patience and for allowing us to continue the story of this fantastic layout.

Set in the West Country during the fascinating transition from steam to diesel, Westwood Ho MPD captures the character and atmosphere of this changing period in British railway history. Its highly detailed scenery represents the everyday quirks of the era, while a number of humorous additions are hidden around the layout for visitors to discover.
